From The Desk Of: Harold McKenzie
Dear Friend,
Since you’ve found this website I suppose it’s ok to let you know… “I’m very interested in writing songs.” The truth is, I’m always on the internet looking for any tip or trick to write a 'hit' song. That’s what led me to put this website up. Let me explain…
While surfing around the internet, I stumbled upon something so fantastic that it immediately got my attention… In fact, I discovered something sooo amazing that at first I thought it was "too good to be true" like most things are.
You see, a few months ago, I was doing some research on Robert Bruce one of the most well-known and respected song writers in recent history. I noticed that most of his work was available and accounted for with the exception of one of his most important pieces of work,‘How To Write A Hit Song And Sell It’.
Well, this got me curious and so I started digging a little deeper; I started to send off a few emails asking questions, but unfortunately every road I seemed to head down was a dead end… until a couple of weeks ago that is…
By a stroke of luck, I emailed my story to one of my favorite site’s webmasters… as it turned out he had an old copy of this difficult to find book - it was right under my damn nose. After numerous emails I finally got him to mail me his copy.
I Uncovered One Of The Most Important Song Writing Manuscripts Of All Time....
Even though it was first published in 1945 this book has the best song writing information I have ever seen.
In the 9 chapters here’s just a snippet of what you’ll learn:
Why writing a song is a lot like baking a cake...on the surface it looks like you just add the ingredients and 'Bingo' you've got an instant 'Hit'. It couldn't be further from the truth.
How hard it is for the new song writer to get their song noticed. But there are ways to 'fast track' this process if you know how.
Discover the 'Ten' cardinal rules that must be followed before a song is deemed to be of a commercial standard.
Why the song must be in 'Dance Tempo'....to be considered for a popular song. This goes back to when dancing was popular, find out how these two points relate to each other.
How to look at music and their beats to see the different tempo...which will help you understand all about tempo's and how this ties in with writing a song.
Why a melody must be based on a 'short theme'...and learn about the 32 measures. A very important section to better get a grasp on how melodies work and how this will help you write a song.
How and why the Melodic Construction must conform to one of several patterns. Discover how to structure the song and where to put certain pieces, either at the front or at the back.
And there’s loads more…
At this point, you might be wondering how you can get your hands on a copy…
Well here’s the good news.
After doing even more research (I told you I was a song writing fanatic ) I have contacted the original copyright owners and gained permission to republish Robert Bruce’s complete work on this website.
Because song writing is my passion and I want to share it with as many people as possible. Believe it or not, I’ve decided to do something completely unheard of these days. I’m going to let you have this amazing manuscript for nothing.
It’s FREE… Yes 100% FREE
Now you have no excuse for not being able to write songs and know how to structure them...giving you a head-start in being able to write a 'Hit Song'.
So without any further adieu, let’s get started...
